The Book of Peach

In The Book of Peach, dumped by her professor husband, Peach has come back to Mississippi, illustrating the truth of Robert Frost's words that "home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in." Home is pretty toxic to Peach because of the presence of her critical, snobbish, hyper-ladylike mother. But with the help of her new friends at the café, and her discovery of the healing power of writing, Peach is able to attain peace with her past. Even more important, she finds a future enriched by an unexpected love.
