Although raised in a home where the father was not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Howard W. Hunter rose to be its leader, revered and beloved by members around the world as a prophet, seer, and revelator. In the process of that transformation he filled many roles enterprising businessman, skilled musician, devoted husband and father, and successful attorney. He served as bishop and stake president before his call as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve. Throughout his life, Howard W. Hunter displayed qualities of dignity, poise, and gentleness. As President, he encouraged all to be more Christlike in dealing with each other. This is the story of a man filled with a zest for living who had such spiritual strength and focus that he became the mouthpiece for the Almighty.
