Having experienced religious persecution firsthand, they understood the need to revere the Constitution of the United Sates and the guarantee of freedoms that it enshrines. As senior photo archivist for the LDS Church History Library, William Slaughter has access to thousands of rare, often unseen photos. He has combined these portraits with memorable quotes, gleaned from speeches and personal journals, reflecting on American democracy and the proper role of government.
