DESCRIPTION
Imagine an arid land of colored rock; a land of cliffs, canyons, arches, spires, and mesas carved by water and time; a land of grand vistas and narrow, rocky crevices, a wild land visited by people for millennia -- Canyonlands. Canyonlands National Park, located in southeastern Utah, was established in 1964 to preserve a geologic wonderland of rocks, spires and mesas, and a variety of Indian rock art.
